My MIL kissing my baby makes my skin crawl
I've posted here before about some of the behaviour from my in laws. They really are not THAT bad but have totally pissed me off and stepped over my boundaries since our LO was born, I got on with them really well beforehand.
But recently my MIL has been coming round to 'help babysit' which was the agreed arrangement, though last time I just wound up entertaining her and DIL whilst they ate lunch, had coffee and cake and made a mess.
During the visit my DIL LAY on my sofa and talked on and on, to me, the mother, about how 'wonderfully doting a grandma' MIL was and how all the grandchildren adored her and she was so incredible. Not a single, you are doing a great job as a mom and your baby loves you. Just wow grandma how amazing, whilst I ran around after them and my MIL literally shoved toy after you in my babies face giving her no space.
But that reallllly bothered me was her sitting reading her books and calling her 'her little lovebug' and kissing her repeatedly. I know it's nice for my daughter to be loved but omg it set me off 😩 I want to stop feeling this way as I know they mean well but I find it sooo hard. There were so many actual transgressions from this visit I could go into and won't buy I would love to know if this feeling improved for anyone!
