AIO for wanted to cut my mom off after she accused me and my siblings of witchcraft?
I (20F) have been out of my parents' home to study abroad with other siblings. My family dynamics have been going to the dumps since my mom and sister became extra religious. We've had a lot of drama, which ended with my dad disowning my older sister and her cutting everyone off. That's when I moved to a different country for my studies alongside two other older siblings. I'm the youngest of eight. Moving was really hard, but I slowly got used to it. My parents visited a couple of times, but everything went downhill a couple of months ago. My mom suddenly stopped responding to anyone completely. I spent months trying to reach out and get her to talk on the phone, but all I received was a long text telling me to come back to Jesus. Apparently, she did the same thing to my other siblings as well. I was so worried that I asked my dad and older brother in the country with her to consider professional help like therapy. When she finally picked up the phone four months later, that's when the accusations started. She accused me, my siblings, and my dad of witchcraft. She said my dad stole our "lights" and that our studies were useless because of it, and we needed to come back eventhought all 3 of us are about to graduate.
I pressed her for more details; that's when she accused me of incest because that's what she saw in her "dreams" alongside all the witchcraft accusations. She revealed how she learned about my dad's affairs with other women through dreams, and my dad apparently said it was the truth. Now she's threatening to cut everyone off if we keep doing witchcraft and don't come back to Jesus.
My brother says to just let her be and not to worry about it, but it's taking a toll on my mental health. I feel like I can't even breathe while writing this down. I even had to leave a class and cry in the school bathroom because of how disrupted I got after receiving one of her messages. Will i be overreacting if I cut my parents off after I become financially independent?
