LL/HL sensory and relationship issue
My partner (HL) and I (LL) have been together for 1.5 years and both have the utmost love and care for each other. We both are highly empathetic and anxious people which I think also creates an issue between our different needs. (Queer relationship)
Over the course of our relationship I have developed a neurological health issues that have exacerbated sensory issues and anxiety. I am likely Audhd if that’s relavent. Over the past 6 months my work and school load have been drowning my everyday life, leaving me physically exhausted by the end of the day. I have no days off that don’t include work or school and the tims I do hae time are when they are at work or at night when I’m already tired. This has created a huge issue with our sex life and has caused her to question her self-esteem and my attraction to her.
For a long time I’ve felt like somthing is wrong with me (before relationship) with my low sex drive and sensory issues. When we’ve had sex on my end of things it’s never super pleasurable and sort of hurts, despite how attracted I am to her. I enjoy pleasing her but have a hard time receiving.
I am able to masterbate on my own every once in awhile but I think it may be an issue of I’m not controlling the sensory input kind of situation (?)
I want to make her feel wanted and I feel like a lot of the issues will be solved when I graudate in a couple of months and will have more free time. This issue has come up a fee times thrugjout our relationship and I’m worried we’ll grow to resent each other with our different drives. Everything else if our relationship has been great and we both don’t want to lose each other. she knows I’m going through a lot but it doesn’t chage the fact it impacts her regularly and I feel horrible about it. I want to be able to figure this out and am seeking therapy soon.
I’ve mentioned the idea of scheduling times/date nights together so I can make sure I am fully present, but I think to her it loses the “magic” to it.
Seeking advice or anything about this dynamic or input on the situation.
