One of my favorite things about Carolyn is that she wasn’t just a elegant/classy/proper/jackie kennedy type gal … she was also messy/not always a fashionista/a party girl/crass. I mean it in the best way. She was real but also so put together, she was an enigma. She was BOTH. I see alotttt of people trying to be her right now, and I feel as if they have it all wrong. They’re trying to group her into the tight haired clean girl, primadonna, big fashion labels kind of girl and that just wasn’t her 24/7. She was chic. I saw someone say “step 1: carolyn would never wear sweatpants!” but she did? and sweatshirts, big frumpy jackets and sneakers, and her hair would be messy a lot of the time (until she married John… and even then she’d let herself rock a lot of the time). I’ve seen people compare her to Daryl and call her things that Carolyn was as well, but then say she was far more Kennedy-esque than Daryl. Like I guess but…. not really? They were both charismatic party girls.. Carolyn just knew how to put it away more and dressed better half the time. It wasn’t just long camel skirts, black turtle necks, prada dresses etc. The fact that she mixed that with also being messy and chill was cool. Idk if it’s because people are romanticizing her, but it’s like people are completely forgetting the other side of her.

I hope this comes out the way it’s intended to……
