Stop people getting arrested for feeding pigeons -Join

You may have seen someone getting arrested, handcuffed, detained and fined for feeding pigeons in Harrow, London UK in January. this was really shocking, made more so when we realised they were actually trying to catch the pigeons to destring them.

what made this arrest possible was something known as a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) These are created just by local councils and applied to certain areas. however the enforcement thugs are over enthusiastic and often bully people. they even fined an 18 month old child for dropping a chip!

PSPOs are due to be reviewed every 3 years, there will also be an election in a few months (7th may) where local councillors are up for election. Harrow for Ethical Avian Rights and Treatment (HEART) seeks to understand individual councillors views on this issue, to help inform votes. hopefully in this way we can get the policy softened and changed and get the people in charge to think properly about pigeon rights.
