I get why Vanguards “steal” executions now.

I picked up the game over the winter sale, and have been playing through leveling classes more or less one at a time - I’ve maxed out Tac, Assault, Bulwark so far, and mainly focusing now on Vanguard and Sniper.

Knowing that vanguard has a reputation, I have been taking care to not steal executes from the team. One is not always successfu due to factors like the janky zip line targeting or the lock target and execute buttons being the same, but I think Ive been a good teammate overall.

The reverse has not been true. for context, the way i have been playing the class is to use the (excellent IMO) instigator bolt carbine to whittle down dangerous targets majoris or higher at range, then zip in to finish them. What is happening is that as soon as the target Im shooting at flashes red, whoever is fighting near there will stop what they are doing to run over and try and get the execute, then get extremely butthurt at me for taking the kill that I set up, for myself. I have been pinged, raged at in chat for “kill stealing“ for having the gall to not let them ”steal” MY kills.

I thought I would hate playing this class. I actually real like it, but how the hell are you supposed to play it without people accusing you of being a selfish asshole?
