What are mormons really like?

Hi! I am european, so I have never encountered a mormon before (I don't think we have them here). My only "knowledge" on mormons is based off of the stereotypes I see on tv and movies. So my whole life I actually thought mormons are a cult, like those dark scary cults that you have to escape from.

But I don't think that's true anymore.

So I am curious, what are mormons really like?
