Flip 6 inner screen touch not working

so my flip 6 touch stopped working, it all started with a small delay in response time to touch when I opened the phone, next thing it stopped working totally.

The phone is not under warranty anymore, I read somewhere that flex cable might be the issue so should i just get it replaced or the whole screen? The screen replacement is very expensive (approx $275), Samsung store suggested screen replacement but I am looking for cheaper options.

note: the screen has no damage or flickering issues, just the touch ain't responding.

Has anyone experienced this issue, what was the work around?
