I wish doula trainings would talk more about how to handle clients with dogs
There have been at least two separate instances where I have almost been bitten by a dog in a clients home. I now have in my postpartum contract that dogs must be in the room with the parents or in a kennel. For birth clients and in-home prenatal check appts I state that I’m comfortable with the dog being out and about (because I’ll be sitting with the parents)
Any thoughts or experience with this?
