Waxing skis... time for a new temp wax?

I just started waxing my family skis a bout 3 weeks ago ( yes I used too much the first time, way tooooooo much)

We ski southern nh ( ragged, waterville etc) and this is the first year where we will ski this time of year. Last couple years march was no more skiing due to interest, other activities. We have a sason pass to pats and its so convenient.

Should I wax with the high temp wax now? or stick my all temp and then use a rub on like Zumix , says air 25 to 50F , snow 21 to 32f as needed?

I'm not excluding a trip to more northern areas like Burke or Bolton( did Saddleback) Jay may bee to far.

Last time I skied "spring" or warm weather ,y skis were so stick but then it migh thave been due to just needing an overall wax. This was 12 years ago when I didnt worry , nor knew any better about good maintenance>
