Thinking of becoming a COTA in North Carolina

Im almost 40. Thinking about going back to the two year program at a community college to become a COTA. I'm very much much a people person and love the nursing home environment personally. I'm just curious what the job outlook is and what the pay would be like for different settings. I struggle because right now I have a full time job with benefits but I don't make much. When I was talking to the advisor at the college, she was telling me most of the jobs in this field are part time and don't offer insurance. I would just love to talk with some people who know and can give some advice.
