The Damned (2024)

Discussion

I recently had a conversation with some friends about this little Icelandic indie The Damned (2024). They were both really down on the movie, pointing to plot holes, and could-have-been situations, but I really felt like the movie deserves a little more respect. It's not perfect by any stretch, but I found it to be a fairly creepy film, with some interesting character dynamics. I got a lot of Freudian vibes from it-- it feels to me like its cut from a similar clothe as The Turn of the Screw or The Haunting of Hill House (the book). Both feature these deep psychological portraits of emotionally repressed protagonists. Has anyone else seen this one? What were your feelings on it?
