Some of us need to use a bit more logical in our activism
I am as passionate as the next vegan and I totally understand wanting to just yell to everyone about how awful animal agriculture industries are. However, that is just not effective. The best thing we can do for the vegan movement is to reduce the demand within that industry. Being super intense and in peoples faces does not do that. Different things work on different people, but overall, those types of super intense tactics don't work all that well and turn people off of veganism.
I saw a post on this sub complaining about the "go vegan except cheese" argument. I get it, it'd be great if everyone was vegan but we cant have such an all or nothing attitude. At the end of the day, saying that someone either needs to be a perfect vegan or not try at all, is not helpful to our overall goal of reducing demand for animal products. Imagine if you were starting to think about veganism and you came on this sub and that is what you saw???
All that to say, I get how important it is to everyone but I think some of us need to stop being so intense about it. It certainly is an intense topic that we all feel passionately about, but we also need to consider what is helpful at the end of the day.
