Hello everyone!

[Journiv](https://journiv.com/) is a self-hosted private journaling application that puts you in complete control of your personal reflections. Built with privacy and simplicity at its core. Journiv offers comprehensive journaling capabilities including mood tracking, prompt-based journaling, media uploads, analytics, and advanced search. All while keeping your data on your own infrastructure.

I wanted to share something that might be interesting to some of you here. I’ve just added full Daylio-style support which was one of the most requested feature: [https://github.com/journiv/journiv-app/issues/58](https://github.com/journiv/journiv-app/issues/58)

* Mood tracking
* Activity tracking
* Goal tracking
* Full Daylio Import.

You can now bring all your Daylio history in Journiv, track moods and activities similarly to Daylio but inside a much more detailed journaling system.

**First about Daylio**

Daylio is honestly well designed, and their discounted premium pricing is reasonable for what it offers. Journiv is not meant to be a free alternative to Daylio. Self-hosting takes effort. That effort alone outweighs Daylio’s cost for most people.

**So why Journiv?**

Journiv is for people who care deeply about:

* Privacy (no telemetry, no cloud lock-in)
* Data ownership (your database, your backups)
* Self-hosting
* Unlimited control over their journaling system

On top of mood/activity/goal tracking, Journiv also supports:

* Detailed rich-text journaling
* Large media attachments (photos, videos, audio which are unlimited, stored locally)
* Location metadata
* Weather metadata
* Tagging and structured tracking
* Analytics across moods, activities, goals, and entries
* Import/export options (Dayone, daylio etc)
* Immich photo library integration
* Multi-platform (web and on mobile as PWA, mobile apps coming soon)
* and [much more](https://www.journiv.com/features)….

**Who is this for?**

Probably you if:

* You already self-host (NAS, Docker, etc.)
* You want full control of your journal data
* You enjoy tinkering
* You want mood tracking combined with deep journaling and media

Probably not you if:

* You want something quick, polished, and maintenance-free

If anyone’s curious, I’m happy to answer technical questions about:

* Self-hosting setup
* Privacy model
* Importing from Daylio
