Layoff / Managed Exit
I was recently let go from my job. I wasn't laid off in the sense of my company RIF'd a bunch of workers but was more of a managed exit following re-orgs and pressure to cut costs and offshore jobs.
I'm curious to hear if any others have gone through something similar and how they might be coping?
Personally I was feeling burnt out after the re-org because it felt like my new manager was gaslighting me and I could tell he was building a case against me regardless of my performance. It was actually a relief when I was finally let go and I still received a severance payment. I'm in a fortunate position where I'm currently using this time as a mini-sabbatical as I have some good savings and a spouse that works. However I still feel traumatized with what I had to go through and uncertain what to do next.
Curious to hear others input or open to chatting directly if anyone wants to share some successful coping strategies or ideate moving forward.
