MIL on hospice & nothing is in place

Yes, I have included the state or country in the post

My MIL was just placed on hospice and is declining quickly. My husband is her only child, she’s never been married, doesn’t own a house. She does have a newer car which she just finished paying off (title hasn’t arrived yet). She has not put together a will but since my husband is the only child we are not going to try to scramble to get that done. She hasn’t worked since she got sick a couple years ago. I did just think to ask if she ever had a 401k or IRA. She said she thinks she had a 401k but lost it. We’re going to reach out to her old office manager and ask where we could find that. She doesn’t have much but I’m just wanting to make sure we don’t forget anything… it’s really hard because papers are just in piles and she is in and out most of the time now. What else should we be looking for? I don’t think she ever invested in stocks or anything. She’s has quite a few long term jobs and I wonder if she had 401k with any of those. What happens if it’s never claimed? We’re in Georgia!
