Has anyone else noticed the influx in retconning stuff that's been established throughout the franchise has been on a steady increase since Fallout 4. Now I know that sometimes, especially for video games, retcons are almost necessary at times.

But It almost feels lazy how the writers have tackled some stuff when you could simply explain them through a little bit more worldbuilding.

Fallout 4 wanted to establish T-60s as the new and most powerful power armor. But the T-51 was already established as that! So how do they fix that... by saying that T-60s were for crowd control... what??? Why not just say that the T-60s were incredibly hidden from the public, maybe they were unstable at first or maybe they were finished production just as the bombs fell, but instead they chose and explanation that essentially broke Power armor lore.

But in all honesty, that's not a big deal, but the welding flaw fact from the show really was... Cooper Howard was already established to be poking around in what Vault-Tec and the Goverment were doing, could they no just have said that he was one of the few people who saw the T-60s (assuming they went with the explanation that i made) in early production and therefore he was one of the very, very few people who had actually seen that flaw?

If not: why not just say that he, who had used the T-45s, noticed that the brotherhood knights he fought were wearing the power armor slightly incorrectly. It would make sense for his character, be excusable since this chapter seems a bit sloppy with their knights and still make for a really cool moment!

Aside from that they've really pushed stuff like Deathclaws and such unnecessarily. When I first saw that New Vegas was going to be in ruins for Season 2 I naturally assumed the tunnelers had taken over the strip or something and hunkered down there. Not only would it make sense with the lore established in New Vegas it would also make for some really cool fightscenes without having to say "Oh these Deathclaws randomly appeared here" just because they're the big scary face of the Fallout monsters. Would the fight not just be even cooler if Maximus was fighting a horde of tunnelers in his power armor?

Anyone else feel like these retcons are just really unnecessary and stopping writers from actually comping up with NEW unique ideas for this franchise?

What is with this franchise and lazily retconing stuff recently? :/
