dealing with beauty standards for women are impossible with the way I look
Thanks for letting me say this. I'm 6'3 female with the marfanoid bod, concaved chest, very long arms, etc. Broad shoulders, struggle to keep on weight blah blah. I made the mistake of joining the tall sub here on reddit and it destroyed me. The things people said to me about the way I look cut me so deep I cried for days. I'm embarrassed of that because after 36 surgeries, hospice, strokes, tumors, fighting for my life etc, how am I going to let some losers on the internet break me right? Anyways, I've been working really hard to try and love myself as is, and remind myself that who I am is what matters. Not what I look like. To society, I'll never win anyways.
I really believe that no one in here would be like that because they have suffered and understand. I'm about to be 42 and I've never been married and I think my appearance is the biggest reason why. That hurts deeply because I cannot change it. I'm a loving person and a good person and I keep believing. I'm strong and will continue on this journey alone and will endure as long as I can with this disabling crap but I just need to say it. I can't help the way I look. I have come really far lately in feeling like I'm worthy of everything a normal woman deserves, I'm not less because I'm different looking. It helps to focus on all that I've accomplished and survived which is a lot so I don't deserve to feel ugly on top of everything. I'm ready to let go of the hate people have put on me for my appearance and feel free finally. Almost there,Thanks
