Why do people play reels on full volume in public?

I was on the bus today and the guy next to me was scrolling at max volume. Same 10-second clip playing again and again. No earphones. Nothing.

Everyone could hear it. Nobody said anything. We all just sat there pretending this is normal.

I don’t get it. Earphones aren’t rare. Volume buttons exist.

I’m not trying to be dramatic, it’s just… why?

Is this just accepted behavior now?
