it's been a very long, emotional road & we are almost finished. i hate EVERYTHING about it.. the tiles we chose, grout colors, corner bench, fixtures, both contractors we worked with. i have to live here & it makes me depressed, gives me a knot in my stomach every time i go into the bathroom or think about this whole experience. this is the only bathroom we have so i can't avoid it, very small home. i hate every single decision we made, we anyone experience something similar to this?

the first contractor really screwed us over, lack of waterproofing. The guy had no idea what he was doing and had no business doing bathrooms. on day two he started tiling over Perma base with no proper waterproofing, gaps & exposed seams. we lost a little over 5k with the first guy, had to gut & start over second guy was light years better but still no professional, lack of quality work and attention to detail. It’s disgusting to me that this industry doesn’t have tighter regulations to protect people like me, inexperienced getting taken advantage of & f'd over.

I’m still considering taking the first guy to small claims court, but at this point I feel like it’s more emotional distress and a waste of time and money because from what I understand there’s no way to make them pay even if we win doesn’t mean we are going to get reimbursed!

any tips or ideas to put a Band-Aid over this? wall color, decor, etc. i HATE HATE HATE this so much!

remodel disaster..
