Bulk Image Import for Evernote refugees

The reason I used Evernote for 15 years is that it was essentially my repository of miscellaneous digital information in multiple formats with excellent OCR and search functionality. As with so may users, doubling my subscription for 2026 was a step too far.

A key use case would be to scan receipts and invoices with my phone using CamScanner, and saving them to a folder that Evernote would then automatically import ("import folders") - a quick and easy way to upload content.

I found Amplenote, and the best was that I am finding the OCR to be even better than Evernote, and also to transfer my library was good enough (I am finding some notes where attachments/digital content did not make it across).

BUT, despite the promise of bulk uploading Markup files, for the life of me I cannot get Amplenote to upload the actual images referenced and packaged in the zipped markup.

What is most disappointing is that I cannot find any samples of exactly what it should look like (btw as for portability, it also looks like Amplenote only exports Markup referening the image content in Amplenote's cloud, which is a bit pointless if you promise portability.

If I cannot get this right, I may well have to crawl back to Evernote, tail between legs having paid the exorbitant subscription :-(
