Problems acquiring my citizenship.
Hey guys, I need some help. My great-grandfather was German, born in Münstein, and moved to Brazil in 1917, as did my great-grandmother. They had my grandfather (Which is theoretically considered German as well), who had my uncle (1964), my aunt (1968) and my father (1972), a few months before getting married.
My problem is this: in 2016, my uncle managed to acquire citizenship for himself and my two cousins. And now I've been refused by the consulate because my father was born before the marriage ((about 5 months before), and they said he doesn't qualify under the 2021 law (it doesn't make sense, my uncle got it, why can't he?) I hired a lawyer and she said their response didn't make sense, and advised me to have my documents apostilled. She put together a guide with a written defense, but now I don't know what to do...
Should I contact them by email again? She advised me to have my documents apostilled using the Hague Apostille, but the price is very high and there are many documents (each document is equivalent to to 2 days of my work and involves about 9 or more documents). Do I need to make an appointment and go to the consulate in person?
