U.S. Troops Told Iran War Is for “Armageddon” and Jesus’ Return

An advocacy group called the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) says it has received over 110 complaints from service members at more than 30 military bases alleging commanders are telling troops that the current U.S.–Iran war is part of God’s plan and tied to Christian End-Times prophecy (i.e., Armageddon and Jesus’ return).

One non-commissioned officer reportedly said a commander told troops that President Trump was “anointed by Jesus” to start the conflict that would fulfill biblical prophecy.

The MRFF argues these kinds of religious messages from commanders violate military rules about separation of church and state and harm morale.

The article also links this trend to broader Christian nationalist influence within the Pentagon, mentioning high-level prayer meetings and Bible studies tied to top officials.
