Why are all hiring platforms built for recruiters instead of the engineering managers actually doing the hiring?

Hello ,

Whenever I get requisition approval to hire a new dev, my heart sinks not because of the interviews, but because of the HR software I have to use.

Traditional ATS platforms are massive, clunky, and prioritize compliance and recruiter metrics over actually helping me figure out if a candidate can code. I just want to see their GitHub, look at their past projects, and get a quick summary of their tech stack.

I recently convinced our startup to let my team pilot Arbeo.jobs for our specific department hires, and it is a breath of fresh air.

  • It actually finds their code: It has an enrichment feature that automatically pulls up a candidate’s GitHub profile and portfolio links, bringing the technical context front and center.
  • No training required: It’s just a clean drag-and-drop Kanban board. I don’t have to click through 7 menus to leave a note on a candidate.
  • AI filtering that makes sense: It analyzes the resume against our specific technical requirements and gives a clear fit score before I even open the PDF.

If you are a hiring manager who is sick of enterprise HR tools, I highly recommend looking into tools designed for the actual hiring manager. It drastically reduces the friction of expanding your team.
