Coming off GLPs

Seeking Support / Advice

Hello, I'm not sure anyone will be able to help here as I feel like everyone is signed up for the long term and is having a very positive experience with GLPs. This hasn't been the case for me. I've had a lot of sign effects - nausea, headaches and stomach problems - and it's hugely effected my happiness and wellbeing. I've persisted for 4 months to try and get my weight down a little before going on a fertility journey (I live in France where fatphobia is riff and I couldn't face being old *and* fat in the eyes of a doctor). I've lost a bit, not as much as I wanted, but I need to come off the meds now because you can't have them in your system for 2 months before actively trying to concieve. My question is, has anyone got any experience of coming off them? My friend went cold turkey and found she had huge amounts of hunger for a while, so she's suggested tapering off. I'm scared about putting the weight back on, and I'm nervous about the inevitable diet mentality that will be come back through weight-loss (we all know that it's an addictive feeling despite the years i've spent decoupling from it).

I'm happy that so many people are having such fantastic experiences, but for me, it's been a tough time.

Hopefully this lands OK. This space is amazing and i'm so grateful it exists. Thank you.
