Solo hustler , job market sucks and endless of workday account & ATS resumes pheww

Career / learning

Is it just me, or is the IT hiring process actually a dumpster fire right now?

I have a Masters from the US, 10+ years of experience, and I’m an active open-source contributor. Yet, after 400+ applications on LinkedIn and Naukri, I’m getting zero human response.

The breaking point for me was spending an hour on a 20-page Workday form re-typing everything my resume already says only to be ghosted. It feels like a black hole of "fake" jobs and ATS filters.

I’m a developer, so instead of complaining, I spent the last week (and my entire weekend) building a "Direct-to-Source" tool to kill the middleman.

The logic is simple:

  • No 20-page forms: Just a 60-second "Passive Signal."
  • Direct Visibility: Hiring managers filter by what actually matters (Notice period, budget, tech stack).
  • Targeted: I’m focusing specifically on DE, AI/ML, Snowflake, and Cloud roles first because the general boards are too noisy.

I built this for us (the candidates) to be free for both sides. I’m trying to see if this actually solves the "Application Exhaustion" we’re all feeling or if I’m overcomplicating it.

Would love some brutal feedback on the workflow.
