Dear defenders, how can you defend this?
Skate 1 was released in september 2007, and skate 3 in may 2010. Production time for skate 1 is unclear, but there's some clips from around 2005, so maybe around 2-3 years. Most of us know they're all made in the same game engine which was improved over the years. So if we say 3 years of production, we'll have a timespan of around 6 years, for skate 1,2 and 3. In june of 2026 we'll be hitting the 6 year mark for when skate 4 was announced.
So how come, with the technology we have today, the amount of people who can code with their eyes closed, a game that was made 3 times before, we're still missing tricks, a map not even 25% the size, not even half the amount of missions and challanges, not even 10% of actual skate branded cosmetics, not even 1 pro skater or some sort of story line are missing?
Let's not forget the maps, cosmetics, story and challanges for skate 2 and 3 was made within 3 years. The amount of time spent on skate 4, with that little content cannot be justified by early access, when we've clearly seen way more content, in half the time.
Now, i'll give Full Circle credit, for making the game engine from scratch, and actually made the mechanichs itself really good, but that is all they've managed within almost 6 years, and that is literally all you hear out there. Still with missing tricks from the previous games.
Someone posted that ''dark catch'' IG post, where even the people in full circle, didn't know you could do more than kick and heelflips into dark catches.
Their version of an ''forever changing map'' is recoloring and adding awfully placed ramps around the city. How can anyone defend the lack of content and tricks, with ''it's not even finished'' when we've seen what is possible in 6 years, 15 years ago? I haven't heard any proper argument of justifying the early access scam that is going on.
And let's not forget the player count. Most people uses the one for steam, which i find a bit misrepresenting since most of the player base is on console. But the fact that steams peak was around 134.000, and not even 1000 is playing it right now, says a lot. And EA also proudly showed us the 15 millions people that signed up for the game. Either way i hardly believe over 150.000 is playing it right now across all consoles, that means less than 1% of users actually plays the game right now, less than 1% should tell you everything. Backing down, on one of their ''hard ground rules'' and them removing it from their website, and brushes it off with ''sometimes plans change'' should also tell you, they don't give a fuck about fans.
Reddit and FB is drowning with people not having their tasks registered, and that is their core gameplay loop, which is not even working properly? So what have they actually been doing for the past 6 fucking years? Player created parks suddenly pushed to ''in discussion'' and you all defending it with ''the roadmap said and beyond'', not understanding the fact it went from something we'll get eventually, till ''we're gonna talk about if it's worth our time''.
The main difference is when they actually cared, and had skaters and gamers, making a skate game we got skate 1, 2 and 3. When they hired a bunch of incompetent woke dimwits who never touched a skateboard, or even played the older games, we got skate 4. No wonder Cuz and Deran has been so quite and resigned from social media.
It's truly sad to see such a beloved franchise get butchered like this, and it's also concerning, that there are people actually defending this, with the same argument with no context. Almost like Idiocracy is turning into a documentary. I have much more to say, but i don't want to write a novel.
So please, a defender with a brain out there, give me an actual excuse for how this is justified?
Now this is mainly directed toward the EA and early access defenders out there, since all you people have to say is ''It's early access, it's not even finished''. To all of you who are having fun, and truly enjoy it, good for you, i envy you. So no this isn't a ''stop having fun post''.
