Best small Modpacks for a group of 5?

Tittle lol

I have group where me and my friend are vets while the rest is new. Me and him don't want to play the same vanilla game we always play so we could use suggestions and ideas on modpacks where either 1. you have some nice progression to do or 2. have to do something to survive active threats (that ideally scale of course). I like progressing while feeling like I have to be relatively careful (not too careful like in RLcraft). Any ideas?
