Dear Siege Camp Developers,

Following the recent Airborne Update, we respectfully submit a consolidated assessment of structural capability gaps currently affecting the Colonial faction. This document focuses not merely on comparative dissatisfaction, but on clearly identifiable functional deficiencies that are impacting operational viability across Air, Land, Naval, and Logistical systems.

We fully appreciate that asymmetrical balance is central to Foxhole’s design philosophy. However, asymmetry must provide equivalent strategic options through different tools. At present, Colonial forces are experiencing capability shortfalls in several critical domains, resulting in reduced tactical flexibility and diminished competitive parity.

Below is a structured outline of areas where the Colonial faction lacks either functional equivalency, deterrence capability, or systemic survivability.

\---

I. AIR FORCE

Reconnaissance Aircraft

1. Maneuverability Imbalance: Colonial recon planes have a wider turning radius than their Warden counterparts and cannot defeat them in 1v1 engagements. Suggestion: Reduce the maneuverability of the Warden recon plane to be at least on par with the Colonial version.

2. Hitbox Size: The Colonial recon plane model is too large, presenting a larger target. Suggestion: Optimize the collision/hitbox model.

3. Ineffective Mine Mechanism: Colonial recon planes are limited to deploying naval mines. These mines have an extremely low hit probability against fast-moving ships, and neutral mines left at sea often end up hindering Colonial's own vessels. Suggestion: Either add a homing/tracking mechanism to the mines or replace them with a more effective anti-ship weapon.

4. Excessive Infantry Threat: Aircraft currently pose too great a threat to infantry. Suggestion: Generally reduce the suppression/kill potential of aircraft against ground infantry.

5. Severe Cost-Effectiveness Imbalance:

   · Warden: Only needs 1 "kamikaze" warplane carrying 2 torpedoes to sink 1 destroyer.

   · Colonial: The M925 Austringer Man-O-War has an extremely high production cost (25x PCM, 85x ASM1, 100x ASM2, 20x ASM3, 20x ASM4, 5 Rare Alloy) and a 4-hour build time.

   · Destroyer: Costs 12x Naval Hull Segment and 12x Naval Shell Plating with a 6-hour build time.

   · Suggestion: Rebalance the cost and effectiveness of air-to-surface weapons to address this disparity.

Fighters

1. Weapon Configuration Imbalance: Warden fighters possess twin-linked machine guns with dual ammunition types. The 14.5mm round deals disproportionately high damage to vehicles. Suggestion: Adjust the damage parameters of this round or reduce its bonus versus vehicles.

Seaplanes (Floating Fighters)

1. Excessive Land Capability: Seaplanes have too much operational capacity over land. Suggestion: Restrict their effectiveness in land operations and adjust their production cost to be comparable to Colonial standard fighters.

2. Severely Overperforming Stats: The unique Warden seaplane possesses extremely high damage bonuses and superior maneuverability. A single head-on pass is often enough to down a Colonial fighter, and it can easily hunt dive bombers. Suggestion: Significantly nerf the rate of fire, damage bonuses, and base damage of this seaplane.

3. Excessive Operational Radius: The Warden seaplane, as the game's strongest fighter, can conduct integrated air-ground operations without needing an airfield—only requiring water for supply. Colonial must deploy multiple fighters just to drive a single one away. Suggestion: Introduce supply limitations or logistical constraints for seaplane operations.

4. Faction-Locked Mechanic: Colonial also requires a seaplane equivalent. Suggestion: Add a corresponding Colonial seaplane model.

Bombers / Torpedo Bombers

1. Insufficient Dive Bomber Pressure: Dive bombers lack effective anti-ship capability. Suggestion: Introduce a "leak/hole" damage mechanic against large vessels to increase their deterrent value.

2. Faction-Locked Torpedo Bombers: Warden possesses torpedo bombers that can easily sink Colonial destroyers. This has made Colonial players reluctant to deploy destroyers at all. Suggestion: Either provide Colonial with a torpedo bomber equivalent or significantly reduce the one-shot kill potential of torpedoes against destroyers.

3. Missing Weapon Type: Colonial needs access to torpedo bombers to establish a credible naval-air deterrent.

II. ARMY SYSTEM

Infantry Weapons

1. Submachine Guns (SMGs): Colonial SMGs have smaller magazines and worse settling accuracy compared to Warden SMGs, putting them at a disadvantage in direct firefights. Suggestion: Review and rework magazine capacity and accuracy for Colonial SMGs.

2. Sniper Rifles: Range and damage are not equivalent between factions. Suggestion: Balance sniper rifle parameters.

3. Rifle Comparison: The Warden Hangman rifle has long range and high damage; the Colonial Volta has short range and low damage. Suggestion: Adjust to more comparable levels.

4. Pitch Gun: Damage is too low and range is too short. Suggestion: Buff this weapon.

5. Shotguns: Warden shotguns are excessively powerful. Suggestion: Nerf Warden shotguns or buff their Colonial counterparts.

6. Assault Rifles: The Aalto Storm Rifle and the Booker are too powerful. Suggestion: Adjust their parameters.

7. Throwables: The White Ash Flask Grenade can be auto-replenished, but the Colonial Ignifist cannot. Suggestion: Unify the auto-replenishment mechanic for similar utility items.

8. Anti-Tank Grenade: Colonial requires the Varsi Anti-Tank Grenade to establish credible infantry-based anti-armor capability.

9. Anti-Tank Rifle: Colonial requires the Neville Anti-Tank Rifle to fill an existing anti-armor gap.

Armor & Equipment

1. Body Armor: Warden body armor provides explosive resistance and stab resistance. Colonial lacks equivalent protection. Suggestion: Add defensive properties to Colonial body armor.

2. Rocket Launcher Comparison: The Warden rocket launcher is effective against structures, vehicles, and infantry. The Colonial rifle grenade is only effective against structures and cannot effectively counter vehicles or infantry. Suggestion: Increase the multi-purpose capability of the rifle grenade.

3. Machine Guns (HMG): Colonial HMGs have smaller magazine capacities than Warden HMGs. Suggestion: Increase magazine size for Colonial HMGs.

4. Cold Weather Gear: The Colonial "Cold Weather Coat" does not actually provide adequate cold protection. The Warden Scout's uniform combines both scouting utility and cold resistance. Suggestion: Correct the actual effectiveness of the Colonial cold weather gear.

5. Encumbrance System: The Warden Specialist's Overcoat reduces encumbrance for all heavy ammunition types. The Colonial Grenadier's Baldric only stacks 30mm shells and throwables. Suggestion: Expand the encumbrance reduction range for the Colonial equipment.

6. Anti-Tank Weaponry: Colonial lacks the Bonesaw MK.3. Suggestion: Implement similar infantry ant-tank weapon to Colonial faction.

\---

III. NAVY SYSTEM

1. Gunship Turret Design: Warden Gunship's 40mm cannons are internally mounted and hard to disable. Colonial Gunship's 40mm cannons are externally mounted and extremely vulnerable to crew loss/damage. Suggestion: Adjust the protection of Colonial gunship turret positions.

2. Turret Traversal Angle: Colonial Gunboat turrets do not have 360-degree rotation; Warden Gunboat turrets do. Suggestion: Modify Colonial gunboat turrets to allow full rotation.

\---

IV. VEHICLE SYSTEM

General Issues

1. Exposed Crew: A significant number of Colonial vehicles have exposed drivers and gunners, making them highly vulnerable to small arms fire. This is exacerbated in the current air-update meta, making survival nearly impossible. Suggestion: Add protection or significantly shorten embark/disembark times as a compensatory mechanic.

2. Transport Trucks: Colonial needs access to a "reinforced" truck type that requires 50% damage before stopping (similar to iron-paneling), to improve logistics survivability.

Armored Vehicles

1. Lance-46 “Sarissa” (Colonial SPG): Warden SPG drivers are positioned internally. Colonial SPG drivers are exposed and extremely easy to kill. Suggestion: Unify the protection standards for similar vehicle classes.

2. Tank Comparison:

   · Colonial Falchion lacks a speed boost; Warden Brigand has one.

   · Colonial 85-series tanks lack machine guns and do not have an integrated 40/68mm main gun.

   · Warden Brigand has a speed boost, a triple-shot 30mm cannon, and a machine gun.

   · Warden Silverhand has higher health and two turrets (40mm and 68mm).

   · Warden HTD has extremely high damage and a high deflection chance.

   · Suggestion: Comprehensively balance the performance characteristics of tanks across both factions.

3. Siege Vehicles: HC-7 "Ballista" vs. Silverhand Chieftain - Mk. VI. The Chiefain has a machine gun, low armor, but is extremely fast. Suggestion: Adjust parameters to give each distinct roles rather than a clear superior/inferior dynamic.

4. ATHT (Anti-Tank Half-Track): This vehicle is too powerful and lacks a direct Colonial counterpart. Suggestion: Nerf it or add a comparable Colonial vehicle.

5. Machine Gun Mounts: Most Warden vehicles come with coaxial/pintle machine guns; Colonial vehicles lack these. Suggestion: Increase the self-defense firepower of Colonial vehicles.

6. Reconnaissance Tank: Colonial requires a machine gun-armed reconnaissance tank to fill this role.

7. Flame Vehicles: Colonial needs more flame-throwing vehicles (e.g., BT-8, 86-series vehicles).

8. Anti-Tank Gun: Colonial needs the HV68 push gun.

9. Recon Vehicle: Colonial needs the O'Brien V.101 Freeman.

10. Overperforming Specific Models: The Warden Gallagher Thornfall Mk. VI is too powerful. The Warden Gallagher Outlaw Mk. II has excessive range. Suggestion: Review and consider to nerf these.

11. Super Heavy Tanks (SHT): The Warden SHT possesses more weapon systems/variety than the Colonial SHT. Suggestion: Balance the capabilities.

\---

V. OTHER SYSTEMS

1. Lack of EAT (Emplaced Anti-Tank): Colonial lacks a direct-fire, high-damage anti-tank solution. Facing Warden armored charges, the current indirect rockets are nearly impossible to hit moving targets with. Suggestion: Introduce a direct-fire, instant-damage emplacement anti-tank weapon.

2. Anti-Air Capabilities: Need to add AI-controlled Anti-Air structures and more vehicle-mounted Anti-Air options to counter the air update.

3. Artillery Comparison:

   · Colonial 120mm artillery has 50m less range than the Warden 120mm.

   · Colonial 120mm is tagged as a "vehicle" (making it vulnerable to AT weaponry) and has very low health; it can be destroyed by two Warden AT rifle grenades.

   · Warden 120mm is extremely difficult to capture.

   · Suggestion: Adjust the range and survivability of Colonial artillery to be more equitable.

4. Train AA: Add Anti-Air components/modules for trains to improve logistics line survivability.

5. Map Terrain: There are inherent imbalances in map terrain and resource distribution. Suggestion: Review and optimize map balance. Example: Warden Water Logi Route vs Colonial Water Logi Route

6. Howitzer Mechanics: The 150mm artillery piece lacks a 100m minimum range and there is no "counter-battery" shield option. Suggestion: Add a minimum arming distance and potentially a defensive structure option.

7. Facility Vehicles: The Mass Production Factory (MPF) versions of Colonial vehicles (e.g., Falchion) underperform compared to their facility-upgraded counterparts, creating excessive logistical pressure to produce upgraded versions. Suggestion: Improve the base performance of MPF vehicles or significantly reduce the upgrade cost.

Formal Requests

We request that the development team:

1. Conduct a comprehensive cross-system balance audit rather than isolated adjustments.

2. Address air superiority and naval-air asymmetry as an urgent priority.

3. Ensure each battlefield role has a viable Colonial counterpart—functionally equivalent, even if mechanically distinct.

4. Reevaluate survivability standards for exposed-crew vehicles in the current air meta.

5. Restore competitive deterrence options across all major combat domains.

This is not a demand for dominance.

It is a demand for contestability.

Colonial players are prepared to fight. What we require is a battlefield where outcomes are determined by coordination, logistics, and execution—not by structural tool deficiency.

We submit this protest in the interest of the game’s long-term health and competitive integrity.

Thank you.
