Bod enhancements

Quick question about the bod: do I want to try to focus on enhancements that say "gun" or does it really not matter? Basically, if the enhancement only specifies "gun" does the bonus apply separately for every gun type or does it only apply once? So like is "gun damage increased 25%" actually like ~200%, 25% per each gun type?
