Any hope to get refund?

My item was shipped, but the phone number wasn’t provided on one end, so the courier didn’t send me the collection PIN and just left it at a drop-off point. I was unable to collect it because that place requires a PIN, even an ID doesn’t work. Then parcel was sent back to the seller.

I opened a case as the item was not received, and eBay closed it in favor of the seller. Now the seller has both my money and the parcel, and somehow it’s my fault that the courier sucked?
