Question: Is it okay to take old Hazbin character designs and turn them into OCs

Just curious if acceptable to take canon characters’ old designs or concept designs and remake them into original characters? I ask cause I saw old designs for Vox and Velvet liked the designs and Vibes of their old designs and felt like they could make good OC designs.
