Could this be anaphylaxis?
Recently, I've had mold grow in my home that has yet to be remediated and my laundry detergent used for my bedsheets have been causing my throat to hurt(I washed them with nothing just before another episode, but they still caused throat, ear, leg itching last night). Additionally, I have flares in the morning(this morning too) where I feel overheated (but not sweating hot, possibly flushing?) and wake up with a series of events that happen close together: lower stomach cramps, heaviness in upper body, chest heaviness, tachycardia, shortness of breath. My pulse oximeter says my oxygen is fine. I have had several EKGs, 24hr EKG, an echo, and everything is always fine. My blood pressure was elevated though 150s/90s. Once I started to feel better my blood pressure was 100s/70s very quickly. It felt like I was teetering between adrenaline coming in and fading out. Electrolytes can help, maybe I have POTS(comorbity, even), but the cardiologist didn't believe I had it because I get tachycardia when laying down during episodes too. I also have possible excessive urination contributing to dehydration at night.
Sorry for all the information, but if anyone has any ideas that this could be MCAS related, please chime in.
I find it hard to believe it's just anxiety, but maybe I'm wrong? Since now, my doctor is suspecting MCAS and I have suspected it now for awhile. My symptoms drastically improved with improving my ferritin, but these episodes feel different than they used to feel with severe iron deficiency, and I find that I can better see that environmental allergens play a role in my chronic symptoms.
