Will the Azores feel like Hawaii? Considering for babymoon b/c shorter flight

My husband and I are considering Portugal, specifically the Azores, for our babymoon. Our #1 choice is Hawaii but it is an extremely long travel day, even with an overnight in LA to break it up, which I think would be stressful and dreadful for me (we are coming from NYC).

Portugal is a shorter flight and seems to have some of the same vibes in the Azores. Of course it won’t be the same, but we are hoping it will at least check some boxes.

Can anyone who has traveled to both speak to how we may feel disappointed or whether the Azores have the same feel? We are open to other options if you have any recommendations. Thank you!
