Would you say Civil Service roles are jobs for life ?

I’ve just applied for a CS role however after speaking with my work coach at the job centre she said don’t be in a hurry to accept it as they really aren’t ’jobs for life’ and you can still be made redundant at any point.

I’m a little confused from what I’ve read on here and other forums CS seemed like a good option but I’m not so sure now.

I’d appreciate some guidance before I turn it down 😑
