Recommendations for Vacuums ( Australia )

Hey everyone, this post isn't cleaning tips related but I need to buy a new vacuum cleaner in Australia and would love some recommendations

Growing up, my family always used Kärcher vacuums (the water filter type), and I really liked them. However, I can only seem to find wet & dry models here. I considered getting one, but I’ve read that they’re not great on carpets, which is an issue for me.

My current home is about 70% carpeted, with hardwood floors mainly in the kitchen, lounge area and entryway. I have pets, and between them and myself, there’s a lot of hair. I’m also quite sensitive to dust, so strong suction and good filtration are really important.

I previously bought a cheap vacuum and ended up replacing it every 6 months, which is frustrating. This time, budget isn’t an issue, I just want something powerful, durable, and built to last. Good after sales support/customer service would also be a big plus. I don’t mind whether it’s bagged or bagless.

I’ve looked at the Shark Lift Away Upright, but I’m seeing mixed reviews on Reddit. I’ve also seen very divided opinions on Dyson, people either love them or hate them and I’ve never owned one, so I’m unsure what to think.

• Has strong suction
• Performs really well on carpets
• Handles pet hair
• Has good filtration (for dust sensitivity)
• Is durable and reliable long term
