[PSA] Important Safety Reminder: Honesty, Identity, and Protecting Yourself

We want this community to be a safe and genuine place for everyone to connect.
Recently, it was brought to the mod team's attention that a user was intentionally misleading others by hiding their marital status and using a fake persona.

To prevent this from happening again and to keep our community safe from catfishing and scams, we are implementing some strict reminders and guidelines moving forward.

1. Be Transparent About Your Status

We strongly encourage everyone to disclose their relationship status when reaching out to each other or in their posts. Simply state whether you are Single, or Married. Being upfront prevents misunderstandings and ensures everyone is on the same page. Lying about your status to manipulate others will not be tolerated.

2. This is NOT a Roleplaying Subreddit

While Reddit is an anonymous platform and privacy is respected, do not create fake alter identities. r4rindonesia is meant for real people seeking real connections. Presenting a completely fabricated life, career, or persona is a massive red flag for scams and catfishing.

3. Be Skeptical and Protect Yourself

Please remember to always prioritize your own safety.

• Trust your gut: If a user's story doesn't add up or they are dodging simple questions, walk away.

• Verify before trusting: Take what strangers say with a grain of salt until you feel secure.

• Watch out for scams: When people create fake identities, it is often the first step in a scam. If they seem too good to be true, they probably are.

Report Suspicious Behavior
If you encounter someone who is lying about their identity, acting like a scammer, or making you uncomfortable, please report to the mod team via ModMail along with the screenshots.

Dishonest and deceptive behaviors are not tolerated in this subreddit and will result in a permanent ban.
