The new modern bike industry scheme

A lot of leaks and speculations say the new Cannondale CAAD14 mechanical 105 aluminum bike will start around 3000 USD.

Seeing this, I think modern bike brands have discovered a new scheme:

Make an aluminum bike that's virtually identical to what they've been making since decades ago (nothing new in technology nor material), raise the price 3 to 4 times to match the current carbon bike prices, and call it the "greatest and best aluminum race bike that's better than most carbon bikes".

I think many other brands will follow copy this scheme.

Now even aluminum bikes will no longer be an "affordable" or "beginner's" bike anymore.
