LaminarDB, an embedded streaming SQL database
Posting about my project LaminarDB, an embedded streaming SQL database in Rust. Been working on it for a while now. It uses DataFusion for query planning and Arrow for the data layer, with a hot path I've been trying to keep under 500ns with zero allocs, thread per core, rkyv zero copy state. v0.18 at this point with Kafka, WebSocket, Postgres CDC and Delta Lake connectors working, Python bindings on PyPI, streaming windows and joins, checkpointing
Mainly posting because I could use contributors. Biggest gaps right now are Java, Node.js and .NET bindings. The C FFI and Arrow C Data Interface layer exists and Python is the working reference so the plumbing is there, just need people who know those ecosystems. Also want to add more connectors like MySQL and MongoDB CDC, Iceberg sinks and a FIX protocol connector for financial data. And testing infrastructure, integration tests, fuzzing, benchmarks. Docs too. Always docs.
Not a huge project yet so I'm very hands on if anyone wants to get involved.
