Can an expert sign off on this strength training plan AI gave me?
I'm finally in the mindset where I feel I can get fit and I'm going to dedicate myself to it. I've spent the last 6 months or so simply counting calories and eating at a large deficit and I've lost 35 pounds. But I still hate the shape of my body so I'm starting strength training. I'm not so concerned with the workouts. I can definitely do all of these lifts, I just think for the first month or so I'll struggle to get all the reps in even starting with the low end of the weight ranges. But please let me know if there is anything glaring in the workouts that should be changed.
I definitely want an expert sign off on the nutrition because that is where I am completely clueless.
Here's the info I gave AI to build me a plan:
29m, 5'10", 200lbs, ~30%, virtually no upper body strength, the only place I have muscles are my calves from being fat so long. I'd especially like to build my glutes so that pants aren't constantly slipping down with 0 ass to hold them up.
I'll be working out at home. I have 2 adjustable dumbbells (20-50lbs each), an adjustable workout bench, and resistance bands.
Here is what AI gave me:
3 lift days per week (MWF), alternating between workout A and B
Workout A:
-
Dumbbell Deadlift, 3-4 sets x 8-12 reps (35-45 lb)
-
Dumbbell Bench Press, 3-4 sets x 8-12 reps (25-40lb)
-
Bulgarian Split Squats, 3 sets x 8-12 reps per leg (Start with bodyweight)
-
One-Arm Dumbbell Row, 3 sets x 10-12 reps per arm (35-50lb)
-
Banded Glute Bridges, 3 sets x 15-20 reps (Heavy band around knees, 2s squeeze at top)
-
Arms Superset (Dumbbell Curls, Overhead Tricep Extensions), 2-3 sets x 10-15 reps (20-30lb)
Workout B:
-
Dumbbell Hip Thrust (Bench Supported), 4 sets x 8-12 reps (Start with 50lb on hips, progress to both 50s)
-
Goblet Squat, 3-4 sets x 10-15 reps (40-50lb)
-
Dumbbell Overhead Press, 3 sets x 8-12 reps (20-35lb)
-
Chest Supported Dumbbell Row (On Bench), 3-4 sets x 8-12 reps (35-50lb)
-
Dumbbell Step-Ups, 3 sets x 10-12 reps per leg (20-35lb)

Optional Arm Finisher, Hammer Curls, 2 sets to near failure

Any insight or tips is appreciated!
