For decades, Fire Island has been a queer haven for creativity. We’re excited to announce that the Grove & Pines Film Festival is now open for submissions.

Premiering the weekend of September 18–20, 2026, films will be screened at Whyte Hall in Fire Island Pines and the Cherry Grove Community House in Cherry Grove — the oldest continuously operating LGBTQ+ theater in the United States and a proud addition to the National Register of Historic Places.

Over three days and four events, you’ll have genuine opportunities to meet fellow filmmakers and industry professionals in a setting that encourages real conversation and meaningful connections.

We’re accepting submissions on FilmFreeway in the following categories:

∙	Best Narrative (Short or Feature)

∙	Best Documentary (Short or Feature)

	∙	Best Horror Short

	∙	Best Music Submission

∙	Best Episodic / Web Submission

∙	Best of Local Fire Island

Whether you’re submitting your first short or your latest feature, we would be honored to screen your work.

Early Bird Deadline: March 31
