Is there a difference between Roman Catholics and Irish Catholics?

I’m watching Derry Girls on Netflix with the husband and apparently there’s a difference? Is it like the two Popes? Not sure if that’s a thing. I do my best to venture out but wondering if there’s something unique or distinctive . Were from Latin American background.
