Is it true in your experience that people tend to marry and make friends with people who have a similar eye color?

I saw that research suggests that. in my experience it's true, I don't know if it's just because brown is the most common color, but every single person I ever was friends or in a relationship with had brown eyes, I see people with blue or brighter eyes (and I'm amazed by the colors!) but somehow never seemed to be close with anyone who has blue or bright eyes. my family all predictibly have brown eyes other than my grandparents but they passed away. so I no longer interact at all with anyone with bright eyes. does anyone have a different experience or is it that the people in our life tend to have a similar eye color to us?
