Late stage gamer down to 3 games worth playing in 2026

Im so dissapointed man. back in 2015 there was so much to be happy for with gaming and all of it ended up being a dissapointment. Big ones for me in the past decade have been d2, gw2, new world and the wc3 remake. I got thr collectors edition for those games.

there was a time when we expected so much out of games that we had several podcast series going into hour long full nerd mode discussions about things like what the barbarian would play like in d2 (this is where force gaming got his start btw)

There are only 3 games i deem worthy of playing

Warhammer 3 (multi)

Baldurs gate

Division 2

Division 2 is special becouse it has a hardcore mode and is run on dedicated servers - so its actually the only real option for serious co-op gamers seeking a high end shooter game as it doesnt have the lag or host issues that other games have.

warhammer 3 is the most complex rts to ever exist with all of its physics, animations, and spells. The multiplayer is both underated and underdeveloped. yet it is so fun becouse theres always so much to learn and play with for army compositions where every other rts is just units slapping each other and nothing more. no other rts really comes close.

baldurs gate is baldurs gate

I used to be big into competitive multiplayer games but cheating got so rampant i just dont bother anymore.To me, the existance of even a single cheater elminates the fun. R.I.P. rust :(

i guess as i am getting old and more jaded with gaming i should come to terms that the masses failed to vote with their wallet like all the influencers begged you to 10 years ago. You just keep buying the call of dutys and remakes and so here we are, with a small handful of fully realized modern games.
