Reoccurring dream with sleep paralysis in the dream
For most of my life I’ve experienced lucid dreams where I mainly become aware through sensations appearing as heat or vibrations when touched in dreams or light sources being wrong.
For example, if someone stabbed me it would feel like heat and tingling in that area or there’s no sun or moon or lamp but I can see in a dimly lit environment and know it’s wrong compared to reality. Also, almost all of my dreams aren’t in daylight it’s like when it’s almost dark out or becoming light out, there aren’t lamps but it’s not usually nighttime, is that common for others?
I’ve also experience sleep paralysis a couple times while on my back with my arms above my head (apparently can cause it lol) which was terrifying but it contained an awareness of being awake every time I’ve had it.
So for the past year and a half I’ve experienced dreams where I’m in the same environment I fall asleep in, the room is the same, people in the house are the same, same sleeping position, but it starts from my brain as very strong vibrations. They start from the head and go down my whole body.
Having had them often enough, now it is a sign I’m just having one of these dreams. It’s like I suddenly have sleep paralysis in a dream but I know I’m dreaming.
I can and normally wake myself up from nightmares when I gain the awareness so when I get these sensations I always know, oh I’m dreaming let’s wake up. But I can’t, I struggle and try and i can’t wake up. After being unable to wake up through awareness I try moving to snap myself out of it but I’m paralyzed for the most part.
I’ve had multiple dreams where I tried hard enough I fall off my bed onto the floor and start crawling towards a doorway to get to someone or do anything to wake myself up. Eventually after these attempts and struggling I wake up, but I’m back in bed having never moved. The sensations of moving are so vivid. I feel all of it, like moving in my blankets, falling on the ground, crawling, sometimes I’ll hear someone that’s in the house, their voice talking and try to call for help but I can’t like normal sleep paralysis.
I also wonder if it’s connected to astral projection because of the vibrations. There are times I wake up and still feel the vibrations for a couple seconds as well so maybe it’s like fight or flight reaction.
Anyways wondering if other people experience vibrations a lot in their sleep or if they’ve had these dreams. Got me all fucked up thinking I need a sleep study haha.
