Tornado survivors, how and what happened

I know it is hard to answer so only if you feel comfortable but I’m very anxious about tornado weather and would like to know how those who have survived, did survive and what happened.

I live in a small home with little to no safe areas and I’ve been trying to look at damaged homes from tornadoes and what rooms you see standing but I just have a one story home and all walls are touching the outside and each room has a window.

Idk if we’d survive a tornado at all should one reach my home so in case, I’m wondering how did anyone escape one or survive. I’m getting mixed answers from storm chasers and friends and families that I should stay put, go to a gas station or hospital, go to a park bathroom. I just need to know if at all possible what you did and how it happened , thank you!
