Sick and tired of seeing the level of sexual harassment women endure during Holi
Same issue, every year. Holi and women’s safety. While it is still considered a joke in 2026. Every year is filled with drunk assholes molesting women and trying to put colors on their private parts.
Every year we see brands making such thought provoking ads about harassment towards women during holi but that is just what they are ads , and they come with such creativity but is it changing anyone’s mindset?Probably not.
I see foreign women making post of Brij and Vrindavan and then I check the comment section to see how they should not be there. Like if a man can celebrate without being concerned about being assaulted and molested why can we not provide the same entitlement to women? What’s the difference?
I know people are gonna come and tell me it is the way it is. I see influencers trying to make checklist for women about carrying scarf, sunglasses, dress as a man, and carry a damn pepper spray. Imagine having to spray pepper spray on others during a festival in order to keep yourself safe.
I ask women around how they feel about celebrating holi and the answer is the same, it is fun during childhood and somewhere between growing up and being a grown up the magic went away and was filled with untoward advances and sexual harassment.
What is the point of this post? it’s to vent out. It’s about the sheer exhaustion that women feel at the time of this festival and the utter failure of society and the men who cannot rise up to the standard and behave as respectable human beings.
Before people come and start saying oh i normally help my female friends and keep them safe and it is not all men, well first of all congratulations on being a good human and being a good friend to the women around you but you cannot simply mention not all men when you know it is always, ALWAYS a man.
