idk why i made this but pls read it
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
— Vivian Greene
That quote has always meant something to me. I’ve seen it on posters, in captions, in random videos. But tonight… it hit different. Because right now, the world isn’t just going through a storm — the world is the storm. A storm made of fear, anger, confusion, and real people getting hurt while the rest of us watch from behind screens, pretending we’re not affected.
And when you’re just hanging out with a friend, scrolling, laughing, doing normal stuff… and suddenly you see real people suffering… something inside you shifts. It stops feeling like “news.” It stops feeling far away. It becomes real. And when it becomes real, you start asking questions you never asked before.
The biggest one for me is this:
How did we forget that if you go back far enough, we are all one family?
Not “countries.”
Not “sides.”
Not “groups.”
Just people.
People who share the same roots, the same basic hopes, the same need to live and grow and love. People who don’t deserve to be caught in the middle of decisions they never made. People who never asked to be part of someone else’s war.
But instead of remembering that, we keep choosing the same mistake over and over again:
Hurting each other.
We start conflicts before we start conversations.
We choose violence before we choose understanding.
We act like destroying each other is normal, like it’s just part of life.
And we scroll past real suffering like it’s just another video in the feed — another clip, another moment, another tragedy we pretend we’re numb to.
But it’s not normal.
It’s not okay.
And it shouldn’t be something we get used to.
The world is messed up — I’m not pretending it’s not. But messed up doesn’t mean hopeless. A storm doesn’t mean the end. A storm means we have a choice.
We can hide and wait for everything to magically fix itself…
or we can learn to dance in the rain.
Dancing in the rain means choosing empathy when anger feels easier.
It means talking instead of fighting.
It means remembering that every person — no matter where they live or what language they speak — is a human being first.
It means understanding that someone else’s pain isn’t entertainment.
That someone else’s loss isn’t a trend.
That someone else’s life isn’t just content for us to scroll past.
We don’t need to be perfect.
We don’t need to have all the answers.
We just need to stop acting like enemies and start acting like the family we actually are.
Because if we keep going the way we’re going — hurting each other, tearing each other apart — then we’re not dying for a cause. We’re dying for nothing. And that would be the saddest, most pointless ending humanity could ever write.
So maybe it’s time we stop waiting for the storm to pass.
Maybe it’s time we start learning to dance in the rain — together.
Maybe it’s time we remember who we are.
Maybe it’s time we remember each other.
Maybe it's time we see that God is our one true leader.
