QA with 4 Years Experience Trying to Move to BA — Not Getting Interview Calls. What Am I Missing?

I have 4+ years of experience as a QA in the same IT company and I’m trying to transition into a Business Analyst role.

My work already involves requirement analysis, writing test cases from BRDs, UAT coordination, and stakeholder discussions. I’m actively applying through Naukri and LinkedIn, tailoring my resume to each JD, but I’m barely getting interview calls.

I’d appreciate practical advice on:

• How to position QA experience effectively for a BA role
• Whether lack of an official “BA” title is a major blocker
• How much referrals matter compared to cold applications
• What actually helped you make your first switch
