How can I talk to strict parents about auditioning to become an idol while still focusing on school?
Hi everyone, I wanted to ask for advice about talking to strict parents regarding idol auditions.
I’ve been working seriously toward this dream for about 3–4 years now (practicing rap, vocals, dance, and performing), so this isn’t something sudden or impulsive for me. I really want to try auditioning to become an idol, but my parents are very worried about my education, safety, and future.
I understand their concerns, and I don’t want to make them feel scared or disappointed. At the same time, this dream is very important to me, and I want to pursue it in a responsible way without abandoning my studies.
I wanted to ask:
How can I explain to my parents that auditioning doesn’t mean I will quit school?
What are good ways to show them that I have a realistic backup plan?
How can I gain their trust and make them feel secure about auditions and training?
Has anyone here convinced strict parents to support their idol dream? How did you do it?
I want to communicate calmly and maturely instead of arguing, and I want to find a balance between my dream and my responsibilities as a student.
Any advice or personal experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you so much for reading!
